| About GATE
|
| Have you been laid off from work? Do you live in rural North Carolina? Growing America Through Entrepreneurship in North Carolina may be able to help you start or grow your own small business. GATE is a national demonstration program of the U.S. Department of Labor. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will receive special training and other assistance to help you explore self-employment.
The first stop for a dislocated worker interested in the GATE program is the JobLink Career Center in your area. JobLink professionals can help you learn more about an array of services available to dislocated workers, including the GATE program. They are also the best source to learn more about whether you are eligible as a Workforce Investment Act dislocated worker. To find your local Joblink, visit the locations section of this website.
